Jurucakap Lembaga Sungai-sungai Sarawak Sibu semasa dihubungi Bernama melalui aplikasi Whatsapp mengesahkan kejadian itu dan tiada kecederaan atau kemalangan jiwa dilaporkan. Beliau tidak menolak kejadian itu disebabkan cuaca berjerebu namun keadaan paras air yang rendah disebabkan kemarau pada masa ini boleh juga menjadi antara penyebabnya.
“Kita akan dapat tahu punca sebenar selepas keterangan jurugan diambil nanti,” katanya tanpa memberikan lokasi sebenar kejadian itu. Tindakan pantas sebuah bot lain yang kebetulan lalu di tempat kejadian dapat menarik bot itu daripada terus tersadai. Bot berkenaan kemudian meneruskan perjalanan ke Kapit.- BERNAMA
