TOKYO: A former Japanese defence minister has been shot in the leg near his home in northern Japan, Sankei newspaper reported on Tuesday (Dec 10) citing police sources.

TOKYO: A former Japanese defence minister has been shot in the leg near his home in northern Japan,Tokuichiro Tamazawa , who is 81 years old, served as defence minister in the government of Prime Minister

Tomiichi Murayama.It is learnt that he was shot in the leg and is in a stable condition in the hospital in his hometown of Morioka, Iwate Perfecture.A police spokesman said he could not immediately comment. - Agencies
