THE Malaysian Islamic Development Department has never appointed a consultant to handle applications for halal certificates on its behalf, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mujahid Yusof Rawa. He did not rule out the possibility of alleged corruption in the application and approval of Jakim’s halal certificates was committed by the so-called “consultant”.
