PETALING JAYA: Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob today clarified the rule on the mandatory use of face masks in public, saying it only applies for crowded areas where physical distancing cannot be observed.
“There was a viral post yesterday that said action would also be taken against those in their own cars. That is not true,” he said. “If we are at public places like a football field where social distancing can be observed, you don’t need to wear a mask. “If there is someone sitting by himself at the beach… it’s a large place, so he won’t be fined,” he added.
