KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested 39 individuals for flouting the recovery movement control order (MCO) on Monday (June 29).

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said of the 39, three were remanded while the rest were issued compounds.

He said a total of 4,224 supermarkets, 5,534 restaurants, 1,126 hawkers, 1,105 factories as well as 4,315 banks were checked. On sanitising operations of public places conducted by the Housing and Local Government Ministry, Ismail said 9,039 operations had been conducted since March 30 involving 134 zones.

On mandatory quarantine, he said the Health Ministry conducted 7,383 screenings at the KL International Airport between June 10 and June 29.
