Iran President Hassan Rouhani says the fact that the country is still allowing UN inspections of its nuclear programme means it does not want to make nuclear weapons. – EPA pic, September 28, 2019.

PRESIDENT Hassan Rouhani said yesterday that Iran’s abidance by nuclear inspections proves it does not seek to develop atomic weapons despite having scaled back its compliance with a 2015 accord. “Some were saying this third step, that you want to set up modern centrifuges, means that you are moving towards a nuclear weapon,” said Rouhani on state television.
