Bintang tengah Iran, Alireza Jahanbakhsh merasakan media Inggeris sengaja mengganggu fokus pasukannya dengan mengajukan soalan bertubi-tubi mengenai kematian seorang wanita berusia 22 tahun yang ditahan polis Iran ekoran melanggar peraturan hijab.

DOHA: Bintang tengah Iran, Alireza Jahanbakhsh mengkritik media England kerana cuba me­ngalih perhatian pasukannya dengan ‘permainan minda’ menjelang aksi pembukaan Piala Dunia 2022 menentang negara itu, Isnin ini.Protes berleluasa di Iran selepas Mahsa Amini meninggal dunia dalam tahanan polis pada September lalu selepas ditangkap kerana tidak bertudung de­ngan betul.

Bekas pemain tengah Brighton, Alireza yang kini bermain untuk Feyenoord menyangkal soalan mengenai suasana di tanah air, dan menuduh media Inggeris mencetuskan kegilaan untuk gangguan.“Pertama, saya tidak pasti jika England tidak berada dalam kumpulan kami, adakah anda akan datang dengan soalan ini. “Kedua, kami telah menghadapi perkara ini selama beberapa minggu dengan semua media Inggeris menjadikan isu itu tajuk utama ketika Piala Dunia sudah semakin hampir,” katanya dalam sidang akhbar semalam. – AGENSI
