A new iPhone 15 Pro drop test suggests that it may be more fragile than its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro.

, which features a new titanium frame and curved edges, may be more prone to cracking than the iPhone 14 Pro, according to a drop test conducted by YouTuber Sam Kohl.from a variety of heights and angles. While both phones survived the first few drops, the iPhone 15 Pro sustained major damage after being dropped from a height of six feet onto concrete. The phone’s display cracked and the back glass shattered, and it was no longer functional.

The iPhone 14 Pro, on the other hand, was still fully functional after being dropped from the same height. It sustained some minor scratches and dings, but the display and back glass were intact. Kohl concluded that the iPhone 15 Pro’s curved edges may be more to blame for its fragility than the titanium frame. He suggests that folks who typically go caseless may want to reconsider with the new iPhone. You can watch the video below:

But it’s important to note that drop tests are not always scientific, and the results can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the surface the phone is dropped onto and the angle of impact. Drop tests, generally done by brands, are conducted in controlled conditions, with devices being dropped from different heights and onto a specific surface. Then, force meters are used to measure the impact force, and the results are analyzed to determine the durability of the device. Having said that, if you are concerned about the durability of your iPhone, we recommend you buy a case.
