Like many software developers, Apple upgrades the operating system for its devices periodically. For iOS, the upgrade cycle is more or less annual, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone every year. And this year, iOS 18 could be an update worth paying attention to.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman , iOS 18 could be"the most ambitious overhaul of the iPhone's software in its history". The word 'overhaul' alone hints at major changes to come with the iPhone 16 series later this year. These changes could be in the user interface, features, and more. If you recall, it was rumoured earlier in January that Apple wants to compete with Google in the mobile generative AI space. As such, the plan is to implement generative AI features into iOS 18. This should also result in improvements to the Siri digital assistant. Besides these, it's believed that Apple's generative AI features on iOS 18 will support most native Apple apps like Apple Music, Xcode, Pages and more.

Are AI features enough to make iOS 18 the"most ambitious overhaul"? Honestly, we think there will be more to it than AI features. So, what changes or improvements would it take to impress you? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
