KUALA LUMPUR: Suruhanjaya Hak Asasi Manusia Malaysia (Suhakam) hari ini berkata, ia akan mengadakan inkuiri awam ke atas kehilangan pastor Joshua Hilmy dan Ruth Hilmy bulan depan. Panel inkuiri akan dipengerusikan oleh pesuruhjaya Hishamuddin Yunus dan dibantu oleh pesuruhjaya Jerald Joseph dan Madeline Berma dijadualkan bermula pada 18 Feb di bangunan Suhakam. Dalam satu kenyataan, Suhakam menggesa mana-mana pihak yang mempunyai maklumat berhubung kes berkenaan tampil dan merekodkan kenyataan mereka kepada badan itu dari sekarang hingga 14 Feb. “Melalui inkuiri ini Suhakam, sedaya upaya, mahu menyiasat sepenuhnya kejadian yang berlaku bagi mengenal pasti dan membuat syor terbaik kepada pihak berkaitan.” Joshua, individu Melayu-Islam yang memeluk agama Kristian, dan isteri beliau Ruth Sitepu, dilihat kali terakhir pada 30 Nov 2016 Sebelum ini Suhakam turut mengadakan inkuiri awam berhubung kehilangan pastor Raymond Koh dan aktivis dari Perlis, Amri Che Mat.
