Initiatives to help hotel operators should continue, says group

The Terengganu chapter of Malaysian Association of Hotels has urged the government to continue with several initiatives until June next year to ensure the survival of the industry post-Covid-19. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, October 2, 2021.

THE Malaysian Association of Hotels Terengganu chapter hopes that the government will continue with several initiatives until June next year to ensure the survival of the industry post-Covid-19. Its chairman, Suaibah Harun, said among the assistance needed by hotel operators are the wage subsidy programme, discounts on electricity and water bills and sewerage system as well as improvement on the tax system in the tourism industry.
