In a light-hearted talk show with YouTuber and political commentator Apek Cina, the MCA president shared insights from his political career, including the Pakatan leader whom he likes and dislikes the most.
Recognising it was Rayer’s democratic right to intervene, Dr Wee, who is Ayer Hitam MP, said the DAP lawmaker should follow the House’s standing order and not deprive others of their right to speech.“He can say whatever he wants when it’s his turn, but not until stopping others from speaking, ” said Dr Wee.
“I cried after I was dropped from the presidential council and another time was during my farewell speech as the party Youth chief to then party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai. Dr Wee also said the Pakatan government has been “inconsistent" with what they promised to do prior to winning the last general election.
“They said different things to the Chinese and Malays, ” he said, adding that DAP would have also continued to call him names while politicising the issue.“Now that he is a minister, I’m not sure if he criticised Dr Mahathir, who made the decision not to deport the controversial preacher, ” he said, adding that the issue should have been collectively decided through discussions.
