Director-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud said revenue would mainly be from levies, permits and passes for foreign workers as bosses seek to employ more hands.
As at Jan 5, 178,339 out of the 200,000 illegal immigrants who registered for the programme so far have headed back, with the department bagging RM100mil in compounds. “We believe the collection this year can go back to the pre-pandemic days as we have also developed several systems to make it easier for payments,” he added.
