The managing director of the International Monetary Fund ( IMF ), Kristalina Georgieva , expressed confidence in the global economic outlook despite uncertainties surrounding war and geopolitics. She stated that the global economy has remained resilient. Georgieva also mentioned that the IMF would release a paper showing that phasing out explicit energy subsidies in the Middle East could save $336 billion, equivalent to the economies of Iraq and Libya combined.
This move would not only result in savings but also discourage pollution and improve social spending
