PETALING JAYA, Oct 7 — Maya Karin has sought to clear the air after one of her tweets was misinterpreted as being derogatory towards people from Terengganu. The 39-year-old previously shared her experience about crossing paths with a young girl who failed to understand a question in English about her age, only responding when the same query was repeated in Malay.I asked a little girl yesterday at my library talk in Terengganu. “How old are you?” *senyap.Think about it.
Instead of taking offence the powers can take achard look at English standard and see if they meet 21st century needs. Countries like Netherlands and Denmark have excellent English standards and they are as passionate and patriotic about their country as anyone else.
