Meng Wanzhou is charged with bank fraud linked to violations of American sanctions against Iran. FMTNews Huawei

Meng Wanzhou leaves the British Columbia Supreme Court in Vancouver yesterday.

She is charged with bank fraud linked to violations of US sanctions against Iran, and has been fighting extradition ever since. Espionage charges were filed against the pair in June, soon after Meng’s first legal setback, when her bid to have the case thrown out – arguing that the US accusations were not crimes in Canada – was defeated.

US indictments allege that Meng and the world’s largest telecoms equipment manufacturer conducted business in Iran in violation of US sanctions through Skycom. Huawei also at one point owned a stake in Skycom but sold its shares to another company that the US says also was controlled by Huawei.

COMMENT | DAP should give us a list of people it will not work withThis way, we can keep track of all the backtracking they will eventually do to 'Save Malaysia'. Why should DAP put out a list? Msia’s political scene is ever evolving depending who is their leader or manifesto. Nothing can be set in stone. The script already set. They will blame DAP when Anwar failed to become PM. Forever attacking DAP guanenglim .It’s not who they will not work with but the question of why the BN MPs are now supporting anwaribrahim . It seems it’s just that they don’t want MY, according to 1, because he allowed Najib to be convicted, etc. A clean government is important.
