KATOWICE , June 26 — Malaysia hopes the United Nations Human Settlements Programme recognises the country’s Sustainable Development Goals Cities Roadmap.

"We would like UN-Habitat to recognise our national programme and subsequently provide accreditation to our cities, under the UN-Habitat SDG Cities flagship programme. Reezal Merican, who is leading the Malaysian delegation to the 11th World Urban Forum , also presented the Malaysia Urban Planner Award 2021 to Maimunah.

Meanwhile, Reezal Merican said Malaysia would like to work together with UN-Habitat to improve the local technical capacity in Malaysia to accelerate the country’s implementation of the smart city initiative.
