The Home Ministry said this following a Berita Harian report on Monday on the surplus of Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia, where Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran was quoted as saying that the issue was under the Home Ministry and not his Ministry.
"Meanwhile, the Home Ministry coordinates the application of foreign workers via the Ministry's One Stop Centre and preserves public safety and peace as well as manages immigration affairs," the Home Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday . Only law-abiding employers who can prove that they have failed to fill their job vacancies with local talents will have their application to hire foreign workers being supported by the Labour Department.
"Employers who are found to have committed any offence under the labour laws including social security, will not be permitted to hire foreign workers," said the Home Ministry.
