HMFD: Bring children with symptoms for treatment quickly, Khairy tells parents

PUTRAJAYA, May 17 — Parents have been advised to quickly take their children to health facilities if they have symptoms of the hand foot and mouth disease , said Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

He admitted that the HFMD recorded a worrying spike and state health departments have been instructed to conduct intervention apart from announcements by the district health offices on HFMD in their areas. Dr Noor Hisham said 7,526 cases were recorded in the 19/2022 Epidemiology Week which ended on May 14 which showed a 349 per cent rise compared to the earlier ME with only 1,676 cases nationwide.
