Hishammuddin: Five Power Defence Arrangements still relevant to face future security challenges

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 ― The Five Power Defence Arrangements is still relevant even after 50 years of its establishment, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

“Each member state is determined to consult each other on the steps to be taken in the event of external threats against Malaysia and Singapore,” he said during the Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today. Elaborating, Hishammuddin said most recently, the Bersama Gold 2021 Exercise was held from October 8 to 18 in the South China Sea and over the airspace of Malaysia and Singapore.
