Anwar Ibrahim memberi penghargaan kepada rakyat yang mencetuskan idea perubahan dan reformasi melalui media sosial.
Anwar berkata rakyat menuntut perubahan dan menetang banyak perkara yang bertentangan dengan aspirasi rakyat. “Kami sambut sokongan anda terhadap dasar-dasar kami yang positif dan kritikan anda apabila kami lembap atau tersimpang daripada apa yang kami janjikan,” katanya. “Sudah tentu, anda mesti ada peruntukan dan undang-undang tertentu untuk memastikan media sosial tidak digunakan untuk menimbulkan kebencian dan keganasan,” katanya.
Anwar menonjolkan peranan media sosial yang digunakan untuk menyokong kebangkitan perkauman di Eropah, dan di Amerika Syarikat, golongan konservatif baru memperalatkan agama Kristian untuk menanam kebencian terhadap orang lain.
