Heighten Sabah security ahead of Philippine presidential election, says Hajiji

Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor says certain Philippine quarters could be using the issue of Manila's claim over Sabah to garner support from voters. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, February 28, 2022.

SABAH Chief Minister Hajiji Noor had directed state police to heighten security surveillance in the run-up to the presidential election in neighbouring Philippines. Hajiji said he wants police to monitor the situation because the certain Philippine quarters’ claim over Sabah would be a hot topic used by the presidential candidates to garner support from voters.
