KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry will consider the request of the Association of Private Hospitals, Malaysia to allow employing trained nurses from overseas, said Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali ."There is a request from APHM for nurse specialities from abroad to assist our country as there is a shortage of trained nurses in special fields.

"At one time, the Health Ministry allowed and later disallowed it and I will bring this matter to the minister when he returns from Geneva for discussion to resolve the matter," he said. He was speaking at a media conference after officiating the 28th APHM International Healthcare Conference & Exhibition 2022 here on Tuesday .

Also present was APHM president Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh who said the association was in the process of training its own trained nurses. I don’t know but I’ve seen a whole canteen of trainee nurses at 2 hospitals now during breakfast. Please do not shoot from the hip.

This article is half complete reporting. Specialty nurses are lacking in Msia. Please narrate what specialty are those. Required in OT or physio? This person should remain as a medical person and not a minister. Does not qualify.

Joke of the day

Abroad from nurse required higher salary, language barrier.. accommodation etc etc.. as if Malaysia don have trained nurse! what’s wrong with the minister nowadays. What we need is abroad minister to replace the local minister!!

Aik... nurse pun nk import... kl cam tu kami pun nk import menteri gak la...yg duk ada bengong x sudah...

Pay more to the local nurses first

What? Shortage of nurses? Thought we hv surplus. Can we train them in-house or in our nursing school.

So what about all your covered ‘nurses’ in your hospitals?

Dei. Semua cabut la. 😂

Meanwhile, Malaysian nurses are working in Singapore & we will be exporting skilled workers to Nippon. Woi menteri. What are you guys smoking?
