PUTRAJAYA: Although only six new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Wednesday (June 24), the Health Ministry detected three new clusters in the country.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said three of the six new cases were from three new clusters in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Sarawak.

“The index case for this cluster is a foreigner who underwent Covid-19 screening before reporting for work and was found to be positive on June 15. He added that sanitation and disinfection works have been conducted at their homes and other related locations.The second new cluster was discovered in Kuching, Sarawak, which is related to a construction site.

“The patient is the supervisor of two Indonesian workers who were found to be Covid-19 positive on June 16, following a screening conducted at their workplace, ” he said.So far, 62 have tested negative while the test results for another 364 individuals are still pending.
