PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry has tested about 3,300 migrant workers and those without proper documentation have been removed from the community, says Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The Health director-general said that the ministry had carried out three swab tests on each individual over the past two weeks."We have taken the illegal ones out because they have no documents and we are unsure of their health status.

"Most importantly, in the last two weeks, we have done three swab tests on all of them to make sure they are free of Covid-19," he said in his daily press briefing on Saturday . He revealed that those without proper documentation would be taken to the Immigration Department depots and quarantined in a proper facility.

"What I'm trying to highlight is that the illegal ones have been taken out of the community. Those tested positive have been removed and admitted to hospitals," he said. It was reported that the immigration status of migrant workers' currently locked down under the enhanced movement control order in Menara City One as well as the nearby Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion in Jalan Masjid India were checked during raids on Friday .
