PETALING JAYA: Four deaths and 172 new Covid-19 cases have been reported, bringing it to a total of 19 fatalities and 1,796 cases as of noon Wednesday , says Health Ministry director-general Datuk Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah .

In a press conference, he said there were 16 Covid-19 patients discharged, bringing the total to 199 recoveries. Of the 172 new cases, a total of 71 cases were linked to the tabligh gathering at Masjid Jamek, Sri Petaling.Noor Hisham said that they were still investigating the other 101 new cases. Dr Noor Hisham said that a total of 45 cases were being treated in the intensive care unit , with 34 of those cases needing ventilators.

Dr Noor Hisham added three of the new reported deaths were elderly males with a history of chronic diseases and the fourth was a 68-year-old woman.

Amount of infected positive esp those on icu hopefully be able to reduce that important what I meant. Lopsided social media reporting esp on Vvip tested positive Covid 19 then entire world's knows. Pls give more encouragement towards our frontrunner much better in reporting. 👉🏼🙏
