Health minister: Govt studying feasibility of shortening AstraZeneca dose interval to six weeks

PUTRAJAYA, June 19 — The Health Ministry is studying whether the time interval for the second AstraZeneca vaccine dose can be shortened from 12 weeks to six weeks, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said.

Dr Adham said this was especially on the supply of the AstraZeneca vaccine produced by suppliers from Thailand which would arrive in July. Dr Adham said so far, the overall data showed that the AstraZeneca vaccine did not cause serious harm to recipients in Malaysia. In a related development, Dr Adham said the government was implementing the ‘vaccinate first, register later’ method for those who are having difficulties registering for vaccination, especial in the rural areas.

The second phase of the immunisation programme focuses on senior citizens, persons with disabilities and those with chronic illnesses.

if a medicine says take 1 every day, u don't take 2!!!!

Can you please study the feasibility of giving an apt date to those STILL WAITING? Many who registered in Feb and March like myself have not been given an apt date as yet! How long are we supposed to wait? Some of us, including myself are frontliners. Just be fair for once!

This gov just keep update us on study. But don't really tell the outcome.

Lately reported AstraZeneca caused blood clot.

Stick to 12 weeks. Or mix with Pfizer.

Study,, may , looking into , considering ,discussing, , meeting. When is it getting into my arm!

Based on their track record 🐌, by the time the government finishes the study, those who have taken their first dose would have already reached their 12 week interval for their second dose. Feasibility study may be rendered redundant.
