MELAKA: The Health Department is identifying those who have been in close contact with Ayer Limau assemblyman Datuk Amiruddin Yusof, who is positive for Covid-19.

In statement on Thursday the state Health Department said officers were contacting those who needed to be tested.Amiruddin, who just returned back from Sabah, is now warded at Melaka Hospital.Pictures of Seri Negeri, the state administration hub, being disinfected were also being circulated, with claims it had been ordered to close.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali issued a statement saying that all programmes and appointments involving him and other key officials have been rescheduled. He said this was standard procedure that had to be followed as one of its assemblymen was Covid-19 positive. It is learnt that Amiruddin was seen at one of the building in Seri Negeri a day before he tested positive.
