PETALING JAYA: The Maran Health Department is investigating a purported Father's Day gathering at the residence of Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Abd Muttalib.

This was after a picture of ten people standing in the living room of a house went viral on social media.

"Investigation papers have been opened by the Health Ministry, that is, the Maran district health office," Maran police district chief Norzamri Abd Rahman was quoted as saying by Malaysiakini. All the men in the picture are seen wearing face masks and appear to be physically distanced from each other.

A caption with the picture reads"Father's Day celebration at the house of the Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister".Father's Day was on Sunday .
