Kota Kinabalu: Bekas Ketua Menteri Tan Sri Harris Mohd Salleh berharap Kerajaan Persekutuan Madani akan meluluskan, pada dasarnya, jambatan Labuan yang terus menjadi perdebatan hangat, dianggarkan menelan belanja beberapa bilion ringgit.

Beliau percaya ia akan menyumbang kepada pembangunan pulau itu dan Sabah . Pulau itu dilanda kemerosotan ekonomi sejak keistimewaan bebas cukai era kolonial dimansuhkan oleh pentadbiran Persekutuan terdahulu, antara lain.Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar sebelum ini berkata negara berdepan dengan keutamaan pembangunan lain yang lebih mendesak. Tetapi pemimpin lain, termasuk Kementerian Wilayah Persekutuan, tidak menolak cadangan itu sepenuhnya, yang membantu mengekalkan perbincangan.
