Pencapaian keduanya disusuli dua tahun kemudian sebelum menyertai pasukan Honda bagi mengembangkan karier perlumbaannya.Dia juga memegang rekod kejuaraan terbanyak semusim dalam kelas 125cc dengan 10 kemenangan.
Gresini beralih kepada pengurusan pasukan pada 1997 bersama pasukannya yang menang tiga kejuaraan bersama Daijiro Kato pada 1997, Toni Elias pada 2010 dan Jorge Martin pada 2018.
