Great Eastern proposes to acquire AmMetLife Insurance and AmMetLife Takaful

KUALA LUMPUR: Great Eastern Life Assurance Berhad and Great Eastern Takaful Berhad , both of which are subsidiaries of Great Eastern Holdings Limited , had on Oct 2, 2023 entered into an implementation agreement with AMAB Holdings Sdn Bhd , a wholly owned subsidiary of AMMB Holdings Berhad and MetLife International Holdings, LLC in relation to:• the proposed acquisition by GETB of 100% of the shares in AmMetLife Takaful Berhad Upon completion of the Proposed Acqusition, GELM will hold 100% of...

The Proposed Acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals from Bank Negara Malaysia and/or the Minister of Finance, Malaysia, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
