Great Eastern not benefiting from mySalam scheme, says Finance Ministry | The Malaysian Insight

The Finance Ministry has denied that Great Eastern Holdings is profiting from the mySalam insurance scheme for B40 citizens as all unutilised premiums will be reimbursed back to the scheme's trust fund. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, August 6, 2019.

PREMIUMS that are not claimed under the mySalam insurance scheme for B40 citizens will be placed in the scheme’s trust fund, the Finance Ministry said in rebutting claims that insurer Great Eastern Holdings was profiting from the scheme. “No private insurance company will profit from the mySalam scheme. All premiums paid by the government, if unutilised in claims from the beneficiaries, will be reimbursed back to the mySalam Trust Fund.
