, Grab Malaysia started trialing a new “Saver” delivery option, under its GrabFood service in certain states. As of today, the service has exited that pilot testing phase and is now live and accessible nationwide as Saver Delivery.
Then as now, the Saver Delivery option offers consumers and Grab customers the option of paying delivery fees as low as RM1 for the majority of restaurants listed as merchants on GrabFood. The tradeoff for the lower fee? Longer delivery times from when the order has been placed. As explained by the brand, the lower delivery fee is made possible by grouping multiple orders being delivered within the same direction and through the same delivery partner.
“In this current climate, we believe it’s vital to continuously enhance our service, making it even more affordable while catering to the diverse needs of consumers. In addition to having the widest range of restaurants Malaysians love, Saver Delivery now allows us to offer our lowest delivery fee option nationwide.
In addition to the introduction of Saver Delivery, Grab is also announcing a new Direct Delivery option. Well, it says it’s new, but after quickly word with the company, it turns out that it is just a replacement for GrabFood’s Premium Delivery service. As you can surmise, the service saves customers time with much shorter delivery times, but at a higher delivery surcharge to compensate for the rushed job.
