KUALA LUMPUR: The government will not interfere with any decision by the court, regarding a live telecast of former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s corruption trial, says Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Hanipa Maidin.

“The issue here is the court decision, that means needs to make an application, which will be decided by the court. We don’t want to interfere. This is the court’s business. So, it’s up to the court,” he said.

Waste bandwidth and monies to telecast live. Spend these monies on other important areas.

Let the rest of the country work hard to rebuild the nation. Stop wasting time on this.

Don’t broadcast it. You’ll get a lot of Wannabes Lawyers discussing on the trial, making all sorts of comments. Let the court do its job.

Reporting from the media is enough. Is this a Parliament session? With the thugs out there, won't the witnesses be in danger of assault, threats and coercion? Can the police guarantee protection for all involved? 'What if he slinks off to the toilet again? “

Allowing live telecast of Najib trial will devalue the whole process and demean our judiciary. It won’t be too far away before we have picnics at Dataran Merdeka watching public executions again. Yeeha!!
