PETALING JAYA: The government will leave it to the police to take action against VIPs said to have violated the movement control order (MCO), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

"I have been made to understand that police reports have been lodged, and we will leave it to the police to take action, ” the Senior Minister said at a press conference Saturday .

Among them is a deputy minister and a Perak state executive council member who were pictured having a meal at a tahfiz school in Lenggong during the movement control order. Ismail, who is also Defence Minister, had previously said that MCO violators would be arrested instead of being given compound notices.

In Japan or other country the minister would have gone by tomorrow...in Malaysia, it’s alright brother

Hahaha...good joke....for a Minister to throw the ball to someone else!!

Lo_Sciacallo Can you not pass the buck!

VIP can do No wrong.... Get it guys! Period

People that violate current MCO restrictions are Very Idiotic People. Period.

Apa?! Double standard ka? Lockup & saman RM1k. PN must show they mean it, else who will follow and obey PKP?

Stop giving the run around & hv some principle please

Cop should act immediately to arrest the VIP

Harap esok wartawan tanya lagi perkembangan VIP ni. Dah kena tangkap ke belum.

It’s d consequences of d violation ; posing a serious RISK in being inflicted and /or passing the symptoms to others that should be considered ..best to apply d Law n MCO rules to everyone , regardless.

No. Must get them arrested!

Leave it to cops? VIP's should get same treatment when violating MCO... they are breaking the law, what more do you need?

Police now have the support from the gov so lets wait for the police to enforce it if not we will not stand silent on the police if they failed to act.

Nonsense!

So the wheel turns, Minister leaves to cops ➡️ Cops wait minister instruction ➡️ Minister leaves to cops ➡️ Cops wait minister instruction ➡️ Minister leaves to cops ➡️ Cops wait minister instruction ➡️ Minister leaves to cops ➡️ Cops wait minister instruction ➡️

Big mouth before and now showing the coward you r.

It wud b a refreshingly & most welcomed new normal, n d new gold standard of PN govt, if action were 2b taken against these VIPs.

imfsea_aruna If the cops had stopped them in the first place, this wouldn't have happened. They must have passed several road blocks along the way. Not one was stopped by police and sent to jail?

Telor penyuuuuuu

Mcm selalu org kata 'CAKAP TAK SERUPA BIKIN' ?

Hello... lokap ok... rakyat biasa tkde byk alasan... ni clearly that person broke the law lah

Which ministry is overseeing PDRM? So no matter what the result of investigation is, the minister can just overrule it? People are watching.

You don't seem eager to solve the problem

IsmailSabri60 When it comes to Rakyat, you will come up with 1001 ways to punish but when it involves your 'BangsAwan' friends, you sanitize your hands. Hopeless...

That means nothing to be done lah!

Seriously, is that all you can say?...Disappointing...!

What kind of minister who don’t have the balls to make firm decisions

Now push to cops. This is the type of Ministers / Govt ' No Further Action' when it comes to ' their kind '
