Apa khabar semua? Saya harap saudara-saudari sihat wal afiat.Pada tahun ini ketibaan Hari Pekerja tidak disambut seperti biasa. Tiada perhimpunan besar diadakan dalam situasi semasa penularan wabak Covid-19. Selain itu, kebetulan pula Hari Pekerja tahun ini jatuh pada bulan Ramadan.

Dalam tempoh ini, bekerja dari rumah dan duduk di rumah merupakan pengorbanan besar para pekerja dalam membantu Kerajaan menangani penularan Covid-19. Jadi, walaupun kita telah berjaya mengawal penularan Covid-19, jangan kita alpa. Teruslah berwaspada. Amalkan tabiat penjarakan sosial, sering membasuh tangan, memakai penutup hidung dan mulut atau face mask di kawasan awam dan segera berjumpa doktor sekiranya bergejala.

> Keempat, keupayaan menjaga golongan berisiko seperti warga emas, pesakit yang dirawat serta orang kurang upaya; > Kedua, membina ketahanan atau resilience melalui pakej rangsangan ekonomi PRIHATIN untuk meningkatkan kemampuan rakyat dan ekonomi;> Keempat, melaksanakan strategi pemulihan atau recovery ekonomi dalam menghadapi norma baharu;> Keenam, menyusun semula atau reform struktur ekonomi untuk membolehkan negara dan saudara-saudari semua melangkah ke era kehidupan yang sudah berubah dengan adanya ‘norma baharu’ atau ‘new normal’.

Saya hendak sebutkan di sini bahawa negara kita rugi sekitar RM2.4bil setiap hari sepanjang tempoh PKP dilaksanakan. Jumlah kerugian setakat ini dianggarkan sekitar RM63bil. Jika PKP berterusan untuk tempoh sebulan lagi, negara kita akan kerugian RM35bil menjadikan jumlah keseluruhan kerugian RM98bil.

Jadi, saya telah berbincang secara panjang lebar mengenai perkara ini dalam mesyuarat Majlis Tindakan Ekonomi, sidang Majlis Keselamatan Negara dan Mesyuarat Jemaah Menteri. Kita mesti cari jalan untuk mengimbangi keperluan untuk memulihkan ekonomi negara dan kepentingan membendung wabak Covid-19. Selain perniagaan, aktiviti-aktiviti sukan yang melibatkan perhimpunan ramai, sentuhan badan dan lain-lain risiko jangkitan juga tidak dibenarkan. Ini termasuk sukan bola sepak, ragbi, renang dan semua acara sukan indoor dan stadium. Aktiviti sukan outdoor yang tidak melibatkan sentuhan badan dan perhimpunan ramai dibenarkan. Jadi, saudara-saudari boleh bermain badminton atau tenis di luar tanpa penonton.
