Govt dept heads not allowed to order staff to office

THE Public Service Department said government officers and department heads who ordered staff to work in the office during the shutdown period could face stern action. Director-General of Public Service Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman said in a letter yesterday that such orders contravened the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.
