Gig workers making less as more riders, drivers join apps

FOR the past seven years, Mohd Adam Muharin’s job as an e-hailing driver gave him the freedom to be his own boss while putting food on the table for his family. But later this year, the 36-year-old is trading his gig for a fixed monthly income, retirement funds, social security protection and the peace of mind that comes with a 9-to-5 job.
