LABUAN: GiatMara Labuan bersedia menjalin kerjasama dengan Labuan Shipyard Engineering Sdn Bhd, syarikat pembina kapal terkemuka di Asia dan pemain utama dalam industri minyak dan gas , bagi menawarkan pelbagai program kemahiran untuk menyediakan peluang pekerjaan kepada pelatih sebelum mereka menamatkan pengajian.
LSE terkenal sebagai syarikat penyedia penyelesaian bersepadu dalam pembinaan dan pembaikan kapal serta industri O&G di rantau Asia Pasifik. Beliau berkata program itu, yang dibiayai menerusi peruntukan RM300,000 daripada Kementerian Kemajuan Desa dan Wilayah, dijadual dilaksanakan tahun ini membabitkan 50 pelatih baharu.
“Matlamat kami adalah menghasilkan sekurang-kurangnya 20 hingga 50 graduan berkemahiran tinggi bagi memenuhi permintaan sektor ini. Kerjasama seperti ini bukan sahaja mampu mengangkat martabat GiatMara tetapi juga mencipta peluang pekerjaan untuk penduduk tempatan,” katanya.
