Good Samaritans have been donating money to a restaurant in Jalan Maju, Taman Maju Jaya in Johor Baru, so that hot meals can be prepared to feed the needy.

The restaurant’s owner Tee Lee Ting, 50, said a kind-hearted individual first approached her before Phase One of the National Recovery Plan for help to provide 30 packs of food.“After word got around, more and more people started showing up and we eventually had to prepare about 200 packets of food daily, which we hand out for lunch and dinner,” she told StarMetro.

“Aside from myself, the eatery next to mine and other generous individuals have also been chipping in to ensure the poor do not go hungry.“Stulang assemblyman Andrew Chen, who visited my shop recently, gave us hand sanitiser to distribute to the needy after learning about our efforts.
