GEORGE TOWN: Penang Umno still harbours hope for cooperation with PAS for the upcoming 15th general election (GE15), says chairman Datuk Musa Syeikh Fadzir.

Musa said Umno and PAS have a very good relationship at the state and grassroots level and losing the friendship would be detrimental to the state's political landscape. He said he hopes that the PAS and Umno leadership could rethink its decision to part ways.

However, he said that he would accept what has been decided by the party leadership, which is for Barisan Nasional to work alone. PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the decision was made in the spirit of unity of the ummah.
