"I took the opportunity to understand what was going on with him, and he told me that he was not in the right mental state and depressed due to his financial situation," said Liaw. He said Kong had trouble paying his debts and overdue income tax, as well as facing difficulty running his business as he could not travel due to his bankruptcy status.He also said he would retract the police report lodged against Kong over his actions at the Hilltop commercial centre near here on Nov 6, where Liaw was on a walkabout.
