State Perikatan chairman and Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob on Wednesday said Che Abdullah was dropped as a candidate because he didn't pass the PAS syura council's vetting process.
Disappointed by the news, Che Abdullah was reported to have agreed to contest the seat under the Barisan Nasional banner. Kelantan Perikatan secretary Wan Roslan Wan Hamat said Che Abdullah was at risk of being dismissed by the party if he decides to contest under a different banner."In our constitution, if a candidate contests under a different party's ticket, their membership will be stripped off," he said when contacted.
