"I am happy and a little overwhelmed at the moment and am finding it difficult to express how I feel. We worked very hard to win the seat.
"I will stick to our national and state manifestos when it comes to my plans for Kuantan. Even throughout the campaign period, I referred to our promises in the Perikatan manifesto and will continue to use them as my guide,” said Wan Razali, who is from PAS. Acknowledging that he may not have garnered many Chinese votes, Wan Razali said he would"find a way to work together" with all constituents.
"I need to find out what the gaps are and find a way to address these issues. I did go down to the ground to campaign in state constituencies like Teruntum – where voters are mainly Chinese – and found that just like in the 14th General Election, I didn't have much support there.In the battle for the Kuantan parliamentary seat, Wan Razali garnered 25,514 votes, beating incumbent Fuziah Salleh from Pakatan Harapan by 2,866 votes.
Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Seri Ab Hamid Mohd Nazahar came in third with 19,114 votes, followed by Pejuang's Mejar Anuar Tajuddin with 486 votes.
