Earlier in the week, Samsung announced that it will be rolling out the One UI 6.1 update this week, which also brings Galaxy AI to last year's flagship devices. The rollout looks to have been carried out on schedule, and the suite of generative AI features previously reserved for this year's flagships are now available to last year's as well.
From the update details, it looks like most, if not all, of the Galaxy AI features present on the Samsung Galaxy S24 family have been made available to the eligible devices. This closes the gap even further between this year's flagship and last year's, and minus the generative AI features they were already very similar to begin with. Of course, this year's foldables have not been announced yet, so the One UI 6.
That being said, there are some limitations to the implementation of the Galaxy AI on the latter, specifically when it comes to using them on the external screen. Specifically, chat-related Galaxy AI features are not available on the secondary screen, and neither is Google's Circle to Search. It looks like this limitation does not apply to the former, for what it's worth.
At any rate, the One UI 6.1 update is about a 3GB download, and should already be available for all the eligible devices. If you haven't been prompted, manually checking for updates should bring it up.
