PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Territories Ministry has donated therapy equipment worth RM40,000 to four training centres in Putrajaya under the Rehabilitation in the Community Programme, involving a total of 136 students.

The equipment is for pre-vocational and physiotherapy classes at the Putrajaya Precinct 14, Sinar@9 Putrajaya Precinct 9, Down Syndrome Precinct 11, and Permata Hati Precinct 11 centres.

The Rehabilitation in the Community Programme, introduced by the Development Department for Persons With Disabilities of the Social Welfare Department, is a strategy to develop local communities for rehabilitation, training, education, equal opportunities and social integration of persons with disabilities .

"This contribution is able to increase the training potential of PwD children at the centres,” Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim told the media after presenting the contribution in conjunction with the 2022 Federal Territory celebrations here Monday . – Bernama
