AMPANG: A security guard who claimed that he had spotted a tiger in Kemensah Heights has been remanded for 14 days after it was found he did not possess valid documents.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the 51-year-old Bangladeshi man has been remanded until June 3 to assist in the police investigation.On Saturday , ACP Mohamad Farouk said that the suspect had no valid documents to stay in Malaysia and had been arrested for further investigation.

On Friday, the police said they were investigating a possible tiger sighting in Kemensah Heights, based on a viral WhatsApp message.Efforts to track down the tiger were unsuccessful as the information given was incomplete.The police urged all not to spread false news that could lead to unrest and panic within the community.
