PORT DICKSON: A fresh graduate looking for a job was conned out of almost RM139,000 in an online scam here.

Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said the 24-year-old came across a job advertisement on Facebook on July 22 and decided to apply for it.

"The victim was told that she would be paid a commission of 2.5% if she made initial payments for orders made by the company from e-commerce companies," he added in a statement on Friday He added that she made 15 transactions from July 22 to July 25 and transferred the money into six different bank accounts so that she could achieve her"target order".

Supt Aidi advised the public not to share their private details with strangers and not to be taken in by promises of high paying jobs especially those offered online.
