Shah Alam mayor Datuk Zamani Ahmad Mansor said the Selangor government had approved the first phase of the SAsud programme comprising 18 projects at a cost of RM30mil.
“The projects in the first phase will be implemented in major flood-prone areas such as Taman Sri Muda, Taman Mesra and Section 13 in Shah Alam,” he said in a press conference after chairing MBSA’s full board meeting.Works will comprise improving the sewerage system, building a flood retention wall and a pump house, as well as upgrading and repairing the internal drainage, sewerage and related infrastructure.
“This is to ensure that waste collection and the cleaning work are carried out efficiently,” he said.
